Of the European Union as an imagined community

1) The European Union is nothing more than a great utopia, an imagined community founded on the single currency, on wealth taken as a sign of salvation.

2) It is a large unit facing the void. After all, it is not possible to create a European union without talking about European civilization, without a process of nationness designed in such a way as to take all the nations of Europe as the same home in Christ, by Christ and for Christ. And the source of this nationness is only possible through the evangelizing action of the Holy Mother Catholic Church.

3.1) It is in the Church that we can talk about multicultureship without talking about multiculturalism. The son of a Portuguese descendant and a Polish woman will be able to take both countries as the same home in Christ and create bridges so that the two peoples can love and reject the same things based on Christ, thus creating an Empire of Culture.

3.2.1) This is how the sense of serving Christ in distant lands within the continent is renewed. If several generations of Europeans are raised in these mixed marriages, guided by the true faith that we must place in the true God and true Man, then a true European civilization can emerge.

3.2.2) This community reveals itself through true faith, not in the crooked imagination, founded on the materialist utopia of revolutionary rulers. This new world that they conceive is not possible, because it is not true - and because it is not true, it is not good.
