1) A few days before the first presidential debate, Trump appointed a conservative and Catholic judge to the Supreme Court. The idea is to review the decision that approved the abortion, as occurred in the case of Roe versus Wade.
2.1) Many imagined that Ives Gandra da Silva Martins Filho could be nominated for the STF, given the similar history. But the president did not do this: for pragmatism, he preferred to choose a judge from the TRF-1 who entered the court through the constitutional fifth through the vacancy of the OAB and his name was appointed by President Dilma.
2.2) Unlike Trump, Bolsonaro does not have a majority in the Senate or the Supreme Court - in fact, the governors are all against him, to the point of promoting a new policy of the governors against the unwanted who dared to challenge the establishment, to the point of making a partnership with China. And the STF empowered governors and mayors to do all the tyranny they did during the pandemic. But this new governor policy is failing - some governors are already being impeached.
3) Because of this choice Bolsonaro was criticized a lot. But the idea is to go through the Senate hearing, since the people did not choose good names for the Senate in the 2018 elections - which explains the fact that he does not have a majority in Congress. It is because of not having a majority in Congress that he chose to negotiate with the centrist-wing big boys and play the pragmatic game of Congress. Is it the president's fault? No! It's our fault, because we voted badly - we didn't support him. We are still stuck with the idea of a strong man - and he is a real democrat.
4) Either we give him support in these 2018 elections or in the end Bolsonaro will play the game of the politicians that are willing to conservate what is convenient and against the truth.
